Letter to the Editor
(Sault Evening News)
I wish to correct
elements of your
recent story about
Kinross Township
Supervisor vacating
his seat on the
Board. The article
is very misleading.
The comments made
regarding the two
State wide awards
the Township
received for its
website are
practically
upsetting. The
Township Supervisor
Jason Oberle had
nothing to do with
the application,
development, or
design of the
Website. The two
awards were won by
me on behalf of the
Township as Deputy
Supervisor. This
misrepresentation
needs to be
corrected. You can
also contact Kinross
Township Board
members who can
witness that the
entire
responsibility for
the constituent
communications
awards were because
of my work not that
of Jason Oberle. You
may also want to
fact check other
parts of the
embellished story
regarding the
accomplishments
listed. The Board
members can comment
on that as well. The
Kinross Board may
disagree with Jason
taking complete
responsibility for
work others have
done. The three
Board members he
lists are not
completely
responsible for the
items. The work was
completed by the
entire Board. The
facts of this
request can also be
verified in the
following news
article.

. My Business
customers who I have
advertised to as the
recipient of these
awards are asking
questions about my
claims to the
awards.

Please see this
situation from my
point of view. I
worked hard to earn
those awards and I
am very proud of my
work even though the
Township website at
kinross.net bears no
resemblance in
quality or
appearance to my
original work.
UPDATE: 4/15/08 The
editors of the Evening
News and The Community
Voice have replied and
made a good point. Jason
Oberle is the one
responsible for
misleading readers about
winning the awards. He
made the unethical
comments and will be
held responsible.
(Original) I request a retraction
of elements of your
story about Jason Oberle
leaving for Indiana. The
article is very
misleading and false in
part. For my part the
comments made regarding
the two State wide
awards the Township
received for its website
are practically
upsetting. Jason Oberle
had nothing to do with
the application,
development, or design
of the Website. The two
awards were won by me
(Joe Paczkowski) in
behalf of the Township
as Deputy Supervisor. I
am requesting that this
misrepresentation be
corrected. You can also
contact Kinross Township
Board members who can
witness that the entire
responsibility for the
constituent
communications awards
were because of my work
not that of Jason
Oberle. Board member Dan
Mitchell can be reached
at 495-7361. Board
member Fred McClendon
can be reached at
495-5103. John Gaines
can be reached at
485-5169. You may also
want to fact check other
parts of the embellished
story regarding the
accomplishments listed
in the story. The above
listed Board members can
comment on that as well.
The Kinross Board may
disagree with Jason
taking complete
responsibility for work
others have done. The
three Board members he
lists are not completely
responsible for the
items. You have done a
disservice by printing
this story without
checking the facts. The
facts of this request
can also be verified in
the following news
article.

who I have advertised to

these awards are asking
questions about my

I request that the
retraction / correction
of the facts appear on
the front page of your
newspaper as the Oberle
article was.
