Kid's Fishing Day 2008 Shopping Spree

The Kinross Business Association has joined several other organizations and Businesses as co-sponsor of this year's Kid's Fishing Day. For those of you unfamiliar with this event, The Kid's Fishing Day is held annually at Duke's Lake in Kinross and this year it will be Saturday June 7. The kid's fish for planted Trout in a netted area of the lake and win prizes for participating as well as prizes for tagged fish. The photo at left was taken at Wal-Mart where this years prizes were purchased by the KBA, the Recreation Center and the Sault Tribe.

“The Kinross Business Association was contacted by the event organizers this past winter and was asked to participate. We loved the idea and began an internal fundraising effort.” Said Joe Paczkowski, KBA President. “This is a wonderful opportunity for the kid’s to catch a fish and learn how to participate in a great pastime for years to come.” The association hopes that finding ways to keep the kid’s occupied during the summer will contribute to keeping Kinross and Kincheloe a pleasant community for families.
