Come to Kinross - At The Heart of It All

Kinross Township Audit for the Fiscal year ending March 31, 2007 now available online

The most recent Audit for Kinross is now available online and holds some shocking news for taxpayer including that "the business type activities experienced a $288,656.00 decrease in net assets." Why? Has this been explained to the public?  Also partially reflected in the audit is the loss of revenue from rental properties. Surely this is due in part to Supervisor Jason Oberle's unwillingness to negotiate with the State of Michigan and as a result the Township lost $5,000.00 a month revenue for the lease of the Prison Training building. The building still sits empty after more than a year ($70,000 loss in revenue) and is showing signs of neglect. Surely this building will be next on the demolition schedule rather than putting an effort into fixing it up and renting it out again. This is the first of several reports on the audit.  We are having the audit and the budget reviewed by independent sources. Be sure to read the management reports. Due to irresponsible and reckless behavior of the Board, the public should demand a forensic audit of all the Townships financial activities. This is our money they are wasting.
